Terms for using DentRank, a free guide to UK dentists and orthodontists. It is not dental advice and it does not book appointments.
Scope
These terms apply to anyone using DentRank (dentrank.co.uk), a free guide to dental practices and orthodontists in the United Kingdom. If you use the site, you agree to them.
Not dental or medical advice
Nothing on the site is dental or medical advice. The lists are there to help you shortlist and compare practices. They do not diagnose anything, recommend a treatment or a professional, or replace an examination by a dentist. Every treatment has risks and benefits that only the dentist treating you can explain.
We are not a dental practice
DentRank does not treat patients, book appointments or charge readers anything. It makes no promise about any practice’s NHS places, prices, waiting times or results. Any arrangement for treatment, and any finance taken out to pay for it, is a matter for you and the practice or the lender.
How the lists are put together
Practices are chosen and ordered using public information (what each practice says about its treatments, its opening hours and contact details, and what patients say about it) together with the method explained on our “How we select” page. A practice with a Top plan appears in a prominent position and a practice with Pro has a fuller page. Both are labelled. Buying a plan does not mean we have checked the practice or that we endorse it.
Confirm before you go
The lists are reviewed regularly, yet phone numbers, opening hours, NHS availability and treatments can change between reviews. Check these with the practice before you go, and look the dentist up on the GDC register. Ask for the treatment plan and the full cost in writing before you agree to anything.
Practice pages and the business area
By claiming a practice page you confirm that you have the right to manage it and that everything you add is true and fair. Each practice answers for the wording on its page, which must follow the GDC’s guidance on advertising and the UK advertising codes and must not promise results. We can correct or take down anything that falls short of this. The terms of the paid plans are set out in the business area.
What is not allowed
Do not use the site to break the law, copy its lists in bulk with automated software, try to reach areas that are not public, pretend to be another person or practice, or give false information.
Intellectual property
The name, design, texts, selection method and list order of DentRank are the property of its owner or used under licence. You are welcome to link to any page and to quote short passages with a credit. Copying larger parts requires our written permission.
Liability and governing law
We do not exclude any liability that the law says cannot be excluded. Otherwise, DentRank is not responsible for the care given by listed practices, for what they publish or for other websites we link to. The laws of England and Wales govern these terms. Consumers living in Scotland or Northern Ireland can also use their local courts. We may revise these terms. Whatever this page says at the time you use the site is what applies.
