Privacy policy

How DentRank handles personal data: what it keeps and why, which providers process it for us and how you can exercise your rights.

Who is responsible

DentRank (dentrank.co.uk) is responsible for the personal data described on this page. Questions about it go to info@dentrank.co.uk. We follow the Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK GDPR.

What we collect and why

When you browse: your IP address, the type of browser and the pages you open, to protect the site and keep it running. The legal basis is our legitimate interest.

When you email us: your message, your address and anything you choose to include, so that we can answer. The legal basis is our legitimate interest.

When a practice owner signs in to the business area: the email address used to sign in and the practice details they manage, so that we can run the page and any plan bought. The legal basis is the contract with the practice.

Please do not send us your dental or medical history, X-rays or photos of your teeth. We have no use for them and we delete them if they arrive.

Cookies and advertising

No adverts appear on DentRank. It places no cookies for advertising and none for analytics. Cloudflare counts visits without using cookies. The one cookie we do use is technical. It lets practice owners stay logged in to the business area and is strictly necessary, so the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations do not require consent for it and you will not see a cookie banner.

Providers who process data for us

The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which also shields it from attacks, measures traffic without cookies and routes our email. Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the forms on the site are sent by a person and not by a bot. Stripe collects the fees for the plans practices choose and keeps card details on its own systems, so we never see them. Cloudflare and Stripe are US companies. When data is transferred out of the UK, it is covered by the safeguards UK law requires for such transfers.

How long we keep it

Technical records of visits are kept only while they serve security. Emails are kept until the matter is closed. Practice accounts are kept while they remain active, and invoices for the period tax law sets.

Your rights

You have the right to see the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it and to receive it in a portable format. Email info@dentrank.co.uk to use any of these rights. If our reply does not satisfy you, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), which oversees data protection in the UK, accepts complaints at ico.org.uk.

Updates to this policy

Whenever the way we handle personal data changes, this page will be revised to match.
